ZIFA Eastern Region Division One side Masvingo United’s technical team’s recent reshuffle seems to be paying dividends as the former Premier League side has managed to find a winning formula.Newly appointed head coach, Joel Nhumwa who replaced Ferdinand Mwachindalo late last month has managed to turn Masvingo United’s misery into a ray of hope.
Yuna Yuna started their campaign towards promotion into the top flight league poorly after losing all of their first four fixtures.
Masvingo United have so far beaten Black Eagles 2-0 and Mwenezana 4-1.
Nhumwa said his tactics are paying off as he has managed to collect six points in three matches that he has been in charge.
“This is our second win of the season and we are very happy that we have managed to record two consecutive wins. The long range shooting game is paying off because many of our goals are from the distance,” he said.
Nhumwa remains confident that they will be promoted.
In other Zifa Eastern Region Division One matches, Renco Mine conceded four goals to nil against Ruwa United FC.
Triangle FC feeder team Mwenezana won 3-1 against FC Three Leaves at home.
Police side ZRP Masvingo FC beat Chivhu Stars 4-2 at Mucheke Stadium while Buffaloes Juniors regained top position on the table winning 1-0 over Surrey FC.
Gutu FC shared spoils with Tenax FC in a match which ended 2-2 while Eastern Stars FC won 1-0 against Gaza Gunners FC.
