TAWANDA Maswanhise says they are trying to adapt to the new style demanded by new Warriors coach Mario Marinica.
Maswanhise is part of the squad in Saudi Arabi set to face Algeria on Thursday and then Qatar four days later.
“Today was really hard… The managers are trying to get the system into the players… Obviously we want a positive result, but we will be focusing on the AFCON,” said Maswanhise.
The Motherwell forward is one of Zimbabwe’s most promising players.
And under former coach Michael Nees, he was not an automatic starter.
The changes could be a blessing in disguise for him.
In Scotland, he has had a flying start to the season which could see him score at least 20 goals in all competitions.
Chances are high he could be the answer to the Warriors lack of goals, depending on the system used.
“With this new system we are going to play, we will be training so hard. Different playing style should work for the AFCON. It’s a bit difficult with the new system, but everyone is responding well. Everyone is bonding well, and how he wants us to play,” Maswanhise said.
