THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League returns this weekend with a mouth-watering Matchday 21 programme.
The Highlanders’ blockbuster showdown against Simba Bhora at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday is set to headline an action-packed weekend.
Bosso will be banking on home support to inspire them against a Simba Bhora side chasing back-to-back league titles in what promises to be the standout fixture of the round.
With just over half of the season played, every point has become precious, setting the stage for what promises to be an explosive round of fixtures across the country.
The action kicks off on Saturday with Bulawayo Chiefs hosting ambitious newcomers but bruised MWOS FC at
Luveve Stadium. Chiefs, desperate to climb away from danger, face an MWOS side eager to strengthen its position in the top half of the table.
At Ascot Stadium, TelOne FC welcome FC Platinum in another must-see encounter. The Zvishavane giants remain firmly in the title conversation and can ill afford any slip-ups against the WiFi Boys.
All eyes will also be on Rufaro Stadium where surprise package FC Hunters lock horns with title-chasing Scottland
FC. With stars such as Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona spearheading Scottland’s charge, the visitors know that anything less than maximum points could prove costly.
Another intriguing Saturday clash sees former champions Ngezi Platinum Stars hosting Chicken Inn FC at Baobab
Stadium, with both sides looking to reignite their campaigns.
Sunday’s fixtures promise even more drama.
Besides the Barbourfields blockbuster, Hardrock FC face a stern examination against traditional giants CAPS United at Chahwanda Stadium, while Manica Diamonds entertain ZPC Kariba at Sakubva Stadium.
Elsewhere, Triangle United host Herentals College at Gibbo Stadium, with the Students looking to maintain their grip at the summit.
The weekend’s action concludes at Rufaro Stadium where Dynamos FC take on Agama FC, with DeMbare seeking consistency as they attempt to climb into the upper reaches of the table.
With the championship race becoming increasingly competitive and the relegation battle equally fierce, Matchday 21 has all the ingredients of a classic weekend of Zimbabwean football.
