Matter of fact

IN an article published in The Chronicle on May 1, 2019, titled, “Medical Aid Tariffs Proposal Shocker”, we reported that the Association of Healthcare Funders of Zimbabwe (AHFoZ) had called for an urgent meeting with stakeholders following a request by medical aid societies to increase tariffs by up to 400 percent.

It has since come to our attention that the proposal to increase rates by between 50 to 400 percent comes from healthcare service providers like doctors and hospitals and not from the association.

The call for an urgent meeting by AHFoZ was meant to attract the attention of key stakeholders especially the Government so that it disburses forex as doctors and hospitals are now pegging their fees using foreign currency.

We apologise for any inconvenience the error may have caused to our readers and other stakeholders -Editor.
