Max Ruza concedes stiff competition pushed him out of Bosso…” It was tough at Bosso”

Fungai Muderere . .
MANY a defender have told tales of how Ronald a?Gidizaa? Sibanda tormented them on the pitch and turned 90 minutes of play into a nightmare.

Johannes a?Tshisaa? Ngodzo on a good day would make a mockery of defenders, leaving spectators in stitches.

Former Shabanie Mine creative midfielder Max a?Thulaa? Ruza is no exception when it comes to players who feared playing against the duo of Ngodzo and Sibanda.

Ruza a a holder of a Caf C coaching licence a served as an assistant coach to Thulani Sibanda and Dickson Mbazo at the now defunct Quelaton 2009 and 2010.

He also holds a Five-A-Side coaching badge.

a?It was an experience that I dreaded. The two were nimble-footed, their type of play was out of this world.

a?It was no wonder that I always played second fiddle to them in the middle of the park because I couldnat just commit myself more to outclass them,a? said the pint-sized ex-Shabanie Mine player.

Ruza was a marvel to watch as a midfielder when he played for Shabanie Mine, Black Rhinos, Shooting Stars and Caps United, despite being a?too short for comforta?.

He is also a former Highlanders juniors player who left the club citing stiff competition for promotion into the senior team in 1998 before he later became a Shabanie Mine gem.

a?It was tough at Highlanders. We had Gift Lunga (Jnr), Siza Khoza, Thabani Masawi, Blessing Gumiso and Noah Matselele who were beginning to establish themselves in the senior team.

Noel Kaseke, Anzlom Ndlovu and I were finding it difficult to break through so I had to look elsewhere,a? he said.
