beamed live on SuperSport 9 after the television channel and the Premier Soccer League sealed a deal to broadcast some of the local matches until 2016.
SuperSport International will use the match as the try run to their programme of broadcasting the fixtures from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League via all platforms, including, television, mobile and internet, throughout sub-Saharan Africa and the adjacent islands.
But it is the availability of Sithole that comes as sweet music to the Dynamos family who are seeking to retain both the Mbada Diamonds Cup and the Castle Lager Premiership.
Sithole watched his side’s 1-0 win over Harare City on Wednesday from the terraces but assistant coach Tonderayi Ndiraya yesterday revealed that the former CAPS United forward has been included in the 18-men squad.
“We have made a few changes to the squad and we have brought in Simba Sithole in the final 18 while some players who were on the bench in the last match have been dropped.
“His papers have been sorted out and he got his licence today (yesterday).
“There is value in our team but Simba is an exciting player and we expect him to add more value.
“He has not been playing for some time, so we expect him to work hard and get to the levels where he was before,” said Ndiraya.
While the match is a seemingly David versus Goliath affair Ndiraya said they were not taking any chances against the basement team in the cup encounter.
Already Dynamos have beaten Quelaton in their three meetings this season.
DeMbare thumped the league debutants 6-0 in a pre-season friendly at Ascot while a solitary strike from David Kutyauripo gave them the three points in their first meeting in the league at BF.
In the reverse fixture during round 18, Dynamos won 2-0 after Denver Mukamba and Farai Mupasiri scored.
So this means Dynamos have nine goals while Quelaton are yet to breach the Harare giants’ defence.
“It’s a Cup game. Cup games are different from league games. So we are expecting a difficult game but we are fully prepared for them,” said Ndiraya.
The Harare giants will be without midfielder Milton Makopa who has a chest infection and Devon Chafa will be the favourite to play in the role.
DeMbare appear to have an easier passage into the second round, unlike last year when they have to overcome bitter rivals CAPS United 1-0 in the first round.
Yesterday, Dynamos stepped up their preparations at Rufaro and Ndiraya pointed out that they are eager to win the richest knockout football tournament in the country.
“It’s a great feeling to be the defending champions and we are going to make sure that we win again.
“We definitely want the double (league and cup) this season and it’s now up to the guys to make the club and the supporters proud,” said Ndiraya.
While Dynamos are on roll, Quelaton are in a desperate situation and are heading for Division One next season.
This week, the struggling side were rocked by an industrial action after players protested over their salaries.
Despite the problems rocking their camp, Quelaton goalkeeper, Tapiwanashe Marime told our Bulawayo Bureau that they are ready to face the Glamour Boys.
“We might be down but we are not certainly not out. The good thing is that we are going in as the underdogs and we have nothing to lose,” he said.
“The guys want to market themselves and this is one game where one is required to play well.
“I know whoever is selected will do a great job,” Marime told The Chronicle.
