A LOCAL medical aid firm says it is set to cover thousands of Zimbabweans who are based in the Diaspora through its international healthcare plan which will initially target those who are living in Botswana and South Africa.
Bonvie Medical Aid Scheme launched its international healthcare plan yesterday which is targeting Zimbabweans living in the two neighbouring countries.
The initiative aims to ease healthcare burdens for the Zimbabweans diaspora at a time when access remains a critical issue across the region.
Speaking at the launch in Harare yesterday, BonVie Medical Aid Scheme board chairperson Maxwell Revai said they’re determined to provide healthcare to Zimbabweans in the diaspora.
“This is not just about expanding our footprint.
“It reflects our determination to enhance healthcare accessibility for all Zimbabweans – no matter where they reside,” said Revai.
He said they have also partnered with Abovax and Behealthi to make quality care affordable and accessible.
“It is a borderless healthcare solution.
“Healthcare is a team effort. This partnership is geared toward correcting the low medical aid coverage in our region.”
The service allows diaspora members to care for loved ones back home through formalised, efficient health plans – reducing reliance on emergency remittances.
The company said it wanted to help Zimbabweans stop waiting for a crisis for them to act.
