The match kicks-off is at 3pm.
The Old Boys have just rejuvenated their side following a string of players that joined the side mostly from rivals Harare Sports Club, including coach Cyprin “Supa” Mandenge, who is full of surprises in his approach to the game.
Old Georgians, on the other hand, also have a number of new players in the side but the Groombridge-based side has been dominant over the Old Boys in the past three years — something coach Grant Mitchell is looking forward to maintain.
Both sides are going into the match at the back of last week’s wins where the Dragons got the better of newboys Zvishavane Bulls, whom they trashed 50-0, while Old Hararians made light work of Gweru Sports Club whom they thumped 56-12.
Mandenge feels that they have what it takes to maintain the momentum and keep the winning form.
On the other hand, Mitchell also feels that history and statistics will not play a part in the Harare derby this afternoon.
“History and statistics play a big role in the mental approach to the game and in the weeks leading up to a fixture, but on the day they mean nothing,” said Mitchell.
