Head of Public Weather Services Mr Tich Zinyemba said rains as much as 50 millimetres were expected yesterday and today in Masho- naland Central and Mashonaland West.
“On the other hand, Masvingo and Matabeleland South are likely to continue dry although sporadic thundershowers should occur from time to time,” he said.
Mr Zinyemba said most stations in the north of the Midlands, Mashonaland, Harare and Manicaland provinces have received more than 300mm since the beginning of the rainy season last year.
The highest falls have been recorded at Marondera (755mm), Murehwa (714mm), Harare Belvedere (693mm), Harare Airport (660mm), Gokwe (581mm), Rusape (575mm) and Zvimba with 572mm.
“However, this season’s highest total of 755mm is far below last season’s total of 948mm during the same period,” he said.
Provinces such as Matabeleland North, South of Midlands, Bulawayo, Matabeleland South and Masvingo have received the least amounts below 300 mm.
