MFS opens Odzi branch

Blessing Rwizi Post Correspondent—

MUTARE agro-dealer and general retailer giant, Major Family Savings (MFS) last week opened its 15th branch at Odzi Shopping Centre.Unlike Headlands and Watsomba branches opened in the last four months, MFS Odzi branch offers not only farming and hardware products, but also groceries.

It has also introduced the swipe card system to enable villagers to purchase whatever they want from that end without wasting time and resources travelling to Mutare.

The fast growing MFS now operates nine branches in Manicaland and six in Masvingo.

MFS rebranded from Mutare Farm Supplies to create a universal identity and a name that the whole country can identify with.

Its expansion to rural areas is aimed at bringing convenience to community members by lessening travelling expenses as people were being forced to travel long distances to meet their farming and hardware needs in the past.

SUPERfert, Seed-Co, Prime Seed-Co, Mealie Brand, National Foods Limited and Sunrise companies were among suppliers who graced the official opening of Odzi MFS.

Speaking on behalf of MFS chief executive officer, Mr Alfred Choga, who is the company’s operations manager, said: “This branch is similar to the ones we opened at Watsomba, Headlands and Nyika in Masvingo. Our roots as MFS are in agriculture and we are investing more in this area to enable farmers to buy farming and hardware material locally. There is no need for people to travel to Mutare or Rusape to get these services. This shop will not people in Odzi only, but Mutare District as a whole. Our vision is to become a unique branch that transforms lives.

“Prices at the newly opened branch are affordable and we are keen to offer the best services to satisfy our customers. Odzi community has welcomed us and we have to keep the relationship working by bringing convenience to them.”

Ward 31 Councillor, Cllr Pedzisai Gojo expressed gratitude at the opening of the new branch.

“We feel so honored to have such an outlet at our doorstep. Life has been made easier for the Odzi community and travelling costs will be reduced since MFs offers everything from hardware, farming products and groceries.

“Now we are appealing to MFS staff members to exercise good customer care so that we maintain the good relationship that has been created between MFS and the local community,” said Cllr Gojo.
