SEASONED athlete Caroline Mhandu is confident of doing well at the Operation Mobilisation race set for Falcon Golf Club tomorrow.
Mhandu, who has won several races and most recently the 2025 Econet Victoria Falls Marathon, believes she can deliver at a race.
“I am happy to confirm that I have registered for the upcoming Operation Mobilisation race in conjunction with Musabvunda half marathon. I have been training hard ahead of the race and I am looking forward to do well,” said Mhandu.
“There is a lot of competition in the women section but I hope I will continue doing well like I did in the past. I am grateful to my coach Collin Makaza who has been pushing me so hard and I can say I am ready for tomorrow’s race.”
The race will see athletes taking part in the three, five, ten and 21km half marathon.
The initiative is the brain child of Musabvunda apparel founder, Kudzai Pasipanodya.
After successfully hosting their last event, the Musabvunda Half Marathon and Family Fun Day back in May at Blackston, organisers are looking at over 3000 participants.
Pasipanodya is satisfied with the significant growth of the event.
“We have had some big events and the numbers were huge in the past and we are looking forward to a bigger audience.
“We are excited by the support that we are getting from the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe, the athletes themselves and the corporate world,” he said.
“This is a family fun day where we seek to cater for everyone, so we preach entertainment, we preach arts, we preach health, we preach fitness and we preach people to believe in whatever they are doing. That’s why we say ‘Musabvunda’ – do not be terrified,” Pasipanodya said.
