Youthful gospel musician Matthias Mhere’s music continues to touch the hearts of many in different ways.
Barely two albums into his career, the 25- year-old is carving his name among the best gospel artistes in the land. One such person who shares the same sentiments is budding gospel artiste Brighton Masamba.
Masamba (23), who recently released his debut album, “Zvisati Zvaonekwa Neziso”, said he is inspired by Mhere.
He believes the grace of God is responsible for Mhere’s elevation to greater heights on the local gospel music scene.

“I first met Matthias in 2008 when I took part in the Music Crossroads competition at Mkoba Teachers’ College, Gweru. It is the hand of God that raised him to the levels he has reached that is why I’m inspired by him,” he said.

Masamba, who is currently working on three follow-up videos to his latest project, said it was his wish to join forces with the “Favour” singer on future collaborations.

“I am currently working on videos for my songs ‘Vanomuda’, ‘Usatambe naMwari’ and ‘Son of God’ that will be out next month,” he said.
He also applauded the works of great musicians, Blessing Shuma, Sipho Makhabane, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Easter Bhunu and the Charambas for keeping the gospel music sector alive.

The Ruwa-based musician hopes to make a name for himself out of his seven-track album. He highlighted that it was bound to be a hit, considering that he took his time in composing and recording “Zvisati Zvaonekwa Nemaziso”.
