Gospel musician Mathias Mhere is taking his latest album to Beitbridge where he will be performing at Pagomba Cafe on Sunday. The show comes as the musician has embarked on a programme that is set to take the new album to his fans in different parts of the country. In an interview Mhere said he was overwhelmed with the response the album is getting from his fans across the country. As a way of appreciating his fans, he will be doing shows in many parts of the country.
“I am very happy with the response my fifth album ‘Double Double’ is getting from my fans. The album was only released in February , but right now whenever I perform people sing along to the songs.
“This is so encouraging and I am going to be touring the country, meeting my fans and also giving them an opportunity to have a one-on-one with their artist,” he said.
The album carries 10 tracks that carry various messages that reflect on social and Biblical issues and these include the title track “Double Double”, “Makorokoza Muchurch”, “Seri Kweguva” “Nhau YaNoah”, “Kesari”, “Judas”, “Chanza”, “Nhava Yebenzi”, “Be Still” and “Pharao”.
According to Mhere, the title track ‘Double Double’ is a song that tells people that God blesses them in abundance while people who seek God in time of trouble and when they need wealth and abandon him after they get it are blasted in song “Makorokoza Muchurch”.
“Seri Kweguva” is a song that encourages people to believe in God before they die.
Show organisers said they are looking forward to a great show since the album is currently doing well.
This show comes after a successful show at Kingstone House in the capital which saw Mhere sharing stage with some gospel musicians like Sebastian Magacha, Takesure Zama and Thembalami.
