Pint sized gospel musician Matthias Mhere has been given an award of recognition by Megafest after also being appointed as their brand ambassador recently. The musician got the award together with companies such as ZINARA, Holiday Inn, and Net One who were also recognized in the categories for their special services in Zimbabwe. The “Favour” hitmaker was in Cape Town, South Africa for a tour together with Zora musician Leonard Zhakata. The duo performed before a fully packed crowd in Strand and Perrow.

Mhere said his awards and appointments are not being ‘favoured’ by the people involved but a blessing from God. “I am happy that my work is being recognized not only locally but regionally like in South Africa. I didn’t believe that I could perform in front of such a crowd, let alone the places. Baba Zhakata put up a scintillating performance and the crowd was awesome. I managed to sing most of my songs. For the award, I can’t say I am lucky or being favoured but I am blessed,” he said. He said is working on new album to be released early next year.

“I am already back in studio recording my next album which I promise to be bigger and better as I have been maturing by day. I need to give people what they want. Working with your fans in mind is the greatest inspiration,” he said.

“I introduced my new band clad in my label attire — Mhere Music (MM) — two weeks ago at Sabastian Magacha’s birthday party and many were surprised but believe you me, we are doing it big,” he said.
