DEVINE Mhindirira says it’s an honour to play for an historic club like Highlanders and is happy to be writing his little chapter in the giant’s journey.
Bosso are set to mark a century in just three years’ time.
The Bulawayo giants lead the championship race with 15 points, the same number which CAPS United have in their pocket, with the two separated by goal difference.
Highlanders are yet to lose a match this season and they have only conceded one goal.
They will host Simba Bhora in their next fixture.
“It’s a big honour to always wear the Highlanders’ colours,” said the forward.
“It’s a big club with history and legacy.
“I am not concerned about being one of the best players currently at the club but it’s always humbling to hear it from the fans and other football stakeholders.
“Each time I am on the pitch, I look forward to always working hard and giving my best.
“Team effort should be cherished all the time.”
He acknowledged that things were looking good.
“We have started well this season, as a team, it might not be exactly where we want to be, in all aspects of the game, but we would want to carry on being competitive.
“Winning games means a lot for the fans and it’s always good to see them happy.
“Currently, I am focusing on our next game against Simba Bhora.
“They are a side that can cause problems for any team but I feel as a team we are ready to unsettle them.
“I will be expecting a win, it will be good to be on the score sheet as I want my game to be associated with goals and assists.
“I understand we are having good momentum and we will be looking forward to carrying on with that momentum.”
