POLICE in Bulawayo are seeking assistance in identifying the body of a middle-aged man, who was discovered lying face down in a sanitary lane downtown on Sunday morning.
In a statement, police said the man was approximately aged between 30 and 40 years and stood at about 1.7 metres in height and was dark in complexion.
“On the 7th of May 2023 at around 0800 hours, the now deceased, was found lying dead at a sanitary lane along 1st Avenue between George Silundika and Fife Street, Bulawayo by passers-by. The deceased was wearing grey trousers, a black jacket and had a walking stick on the right side of his body. The deceased had no form of identification on him either,” said Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube.
He said the body was taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals for a post-mortem.
“Police encourage the public to always carry a form of identification on them. This helps police in carrying out investigations and quick closure to remaining relatives. Any person with a missing relative who matches the above description must visit Bulawayo Central Police Station,” said Inspector Ncube.
