18 contestants for Midlands Traditional Cookout competition

A total of 18 contestants from across the Midlands Province are gathered at Kwekwe Polytechnic College today where they are showcasing various traditional dishes in the Midlands Traditional Cookout Competition.

The event, an initiative of First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa has attracted contestants from districts including Gokwe North and South districts, Mberengwa, Shurugwi, Zvishavane, Gweru, Kwekwe and Chirumhanzu among others districts.

Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Deputy Minister Barbra Rwodzi who is representing her Minster, Mangaliso Ndlovu, is the guest of honour at the event.

Two winners will represent the province at the national event penciled for Chinhoyi on May 16.

The SADC regional cookout competition will be held in Masvingo on May 25.

Dr Mnangagwa will be the guest of honour at both events.
