MIDWAY Football Club is now two points clear on the apex of the log after outsmarting stubborn Redwing Mine 2 – 1 in an exciting ZIFA Manicaland Division Two Soccer League match played last weekend.
The top of the table clash which was last weekend’s main attraction saw Midway climbing to the top with 28 points in 12 matches.
Redwing Mine who spent more than nine weeks on top of the log is now on position four with 25 points after Watermark and The Africa Trust all registered wins.
The Africa Trust is now on second position with 26 points after they clobbered Sisal Stars 4 – 0 at home, while Watermark edged Chikobvore 2 -1.
Watermark now have 25 points.
Chiwere failed to travel to Eastern Highlands because of undisclosed reasons, a development that led the latter to amass three points through a walkover. Chikobvore are seated on position nine with 10 points, while Sisal Stars have 10 points from 10 matches. In this weekend’s matches, Chiwere United will play host to Watermark, while Claremont and struggling Sisal Stars will lock horns.
The Africa Trust will be aiming to consolidate their smooth run when they face in-form Eastern Highlands.
