Mighty Warriors step up preps for Zebra hunt

Yesterday the Mighty Warriors played two practice matches at Rufaro against Division Two clubs Sprouting and MC Villa.

Inspirational skipper, Onai Chingawo, challenged her colleagues not to take Zebra Queens lightly but instead approach Sunday’s match fully focussed.
German coach, Klaus Pagels, who has been helping the team in his role as Zifa technical expert, appears to be giving the Mighty Warriors a cutting edge in terms of their positional discipline.
Pagels has embraced the Mighty Warriors project and was key in helping them get a training stint in Germany.
Yesterday, Pagels was at Rufaro helping the Mighty Warriors and wants the team to take their improved show at training into the big match on Sunday.
The Mighty Warriors are likely to be backed by a full house, with Zifa announcing that fans will enter Rufaro free of charge, and that could provide them with the inspiration to oust Botswana.
Ruvimbo Mutyavaviri, Nobuhle Majika, Marjory Nyaumwe, Emmaculate Msipa, Tsitsi Mairosi and Rudo Neshamba have all featured prominently for the Mighty Warriors’ revival and could be key once again.
The Zebra Queens, who arrived in Harare on Wednesday, have little to lose and that makes them a dangerous opponent.
They have some good players in captain Bonang Otthagile, Thato Ramafifi and Peggy Segokgo.
