Table tennis academy host coaching clinic

The Ruwa-based academy was revived last year. The coordinator of the course, Emanuel Kanengoni, said it was refreshing that a number of people were coming to take part in the tourney.
“We are very happy with the response and people from the district have shown that they now have confidence in the sport hence the good turnout.
“Last year 15 people from seven primary and eight secondary schools took part in the first training and the number has since increased.
“With our five-year plan we have managed to embark on human resources’ training and we have managed to split the province into two districts – namely Marondera and Goromonzi within the first year.”
Kanengoni believes the three-day course will help table tennis coaches develop the game, especially in the primary schools.
“Our aim is to have a strong junior policy.
