Milton boys face expulsion over cellphone thefts

Chronicle Reporter
THE disciplinary committee at Milton High School in Bulawayo has resolved to expel four Form Four pupils who stole cellphones during a rugby match at Falcon College a fortnight ago.In an interview yesterday, Milton High School headmaster Mr Christopher Ngwenya said the recommendations for expulsion were submitted to the provincial education director for Bulawayo, Mr Dan Moyo, yesterday afternoon.

“A report from the disciplinary committee has decided to expel four Form Four boys who were part of the cellphone theft that happened at Falcon College two weeks ago. The report was submitted to the PED this afternoon,” said Mr Ngwenya.

He, however, said the decision to expel the pupils lay in the hands of Mr Moyo.
“Despite our recommendations, it is up to the PED to decide as to whether the boys are expelled or not. For now, we can only wait since the report has been submitted,” said Mr Ngwenya.

Contacted for comment, Mr Moyo said he had not received a disciplinary committee report from Milton High School.
“I have not received anything from Milton High School as far as the report is concerned,” said Mr Moyo.

The pupils allegedly stole two Blackberry cellphones, two Samsungs, one Nokia C3, a Nokia X201 and a Blackberry Curve from Falcon College pupils.
