Mini-skirt touts apply for discharge

Fungai Lupande Court Reporter
Two touts accused of stripping a woman at Simon Vengai Muzenda Street (formerly Fourth Street) bus terminus have applied for discharge.

Lawyer Mr Nathaniel Chigoro, who is representing Marvellous Kandemiri, last Thursday gave notice to apply for discharge at the close of the State’s case.

Harare magistrate Ms Rekina Dzvikiti will make a ruling on Wednesday.

The prosecutor closed her case after calling five witnesses and Ms Rachel Chibaya of Sawyer and Mkushi Legal Practitioners assisted her in the case.

Kandemiri and Blessing Chinodakufa (31) pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent assault.

The prosecutor alleged the pair and their accomplices still at large stripped the woman when she arrived at Simon Vengai Muzenda Street rank on December 17 last year.
