A TWO-DAY tour of key development and legacy projects in Bulawayo has commenced, with Government officials seeking to assess progress on major investments and determine measures needed to accelerate their completion.
The tour, which is being led by the Minister of State for Bulawayo Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Judith Ncube, has brought together service chiefs, senior Government officials, local authorities and stakeholders from various sectors.
The visits form part of Government efforts to gain a clearer understanding of the scope, implementation status and challenges affecting strategic projects across the city, while identifying interventions required to ensure their timely completion.
According to the itinerary, the delegation will visit a range of infrastructure, health, industrial and economic development projects over the two-day period.
On Tuesday, the team is scheduled to tour developments at Edgars, the Valley Road/Induna stands project, Matopos Road, Profeeds and road rehabilitation works along Third Avenue, Lobengula Road and Luveve Road.
On Wednesday, the focus will shift to social services and economic empowerment projects, with visits planned to Cure Children’s Hospital, the Timber Producers Federation of Zimbabwe (TICOZ), Mpilo Central Hospital, Ngozi Mine and selected vending sites.
Officials are expected to receive progress updates from project managers and implementing agencies while identifying areas requiring Government intervention to ensure projects are completed within set timelines.
The tour comes as Government continues to prioritise infrastructure development, industrial revival, healthcare improvement and urban renewal initiatives under the national development agenda.
