Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Albert Nguluvhe, on Saturday, engaged residents of Tshitulipasi and Tshabili in Ward 1 to sensitise them on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3).

During the same event, he distributed 250 chicks under his two-year poultry pass-on initiative and called for greater community participation in grassroots development.

The engagement focused on strengthening community involvement in national development and recognising the role of traditional leaders in governance.

Minister Nguluvhe, who is also the Beitbridge East legislator, said CAB3 is designed to deepen collaboration between Government institutions, local leadership, and citizens to drive inclusive development, accountability and social cohesion.

“Traditional leaders play a critical role in preserving cultural values, fostering unity, mobilising communities and ensuring that development initiatives reach grassroots communities effectively,” he said.

“It is very important that as leaders we give you feedback on such important processes as CAB3, so that we may move together with the same vision and understanding.”

He urged communities to use CAB3 as a platform to identify local challenges, promote unity and accelerate socio-economic transformation at the ward and village level.

He noted that teamwork and coordination are critical in implementing Government and community-related development projects.

During the sensitisation programme, he also distributed 250 chickens to war veterans, the elderly, the youth, and widows under his ongoing two-year poultry pass-on project, which aims to improve household incomes and food security.

“The empowerment of our people, especially the youth, remains central to sustainable community development,” said Minister Nguluvhe.

“Through projects such as poultry farming, we are creating opportunities for families to improve their livelihoods while contributing to national food security.”

He added that the poultry project is among several economic, socio-economic, and infrastructure development initiatives being rolled out in the constituency as part of fulfilling the promises he made to the community during the election period.
