Zelma and Amanda were crowned first and second princess respectively, while Naseena settled for Miss Personality.
Mukumene was had another intriguing experience of being crowned the second princess at another beauty pageant held by Environmental Management Agency (EMA) at Masvingo Polytechnic last year, before storming into the top five in Miss Masvingo Zimbabwe.
She was later crowned Miss Personality at the Miss Odyssey pageant held at Odyssey Night Club on Christmas Eve.
Speaking to Chronicle Entertainment, the pencil slim Mukumene said she was delighted to be crowned Miss New Year. “I feel honoured to be crowned Miss New Year and I am convinced that I will storm into the Miss Zimbabwe. I nearly got into it last year. I am therefore confident that this year I will make it because that is what I am working on.
” My dream is to become Miss Zimbabwe one day and help the less fortunate in our community,” she said.
The well attended show was a marvel to watch, not to mention the impressive cat walk that was exhibited by the contestants that evening who were all determined to win the big prize.
The pageant was meant to identify and promote talent among young models.
