Miss Summer gathers momentum

MODELLING industry which was lying dormant in Mutare will be revived in style tonight (Friday) when a bevy of more than 10 beauties from across the district will battle it out in the inaugural Miss Summer Beauty pageant scheduled at Courtauld Theatre. The contest is aimed at building confidence in aspiring models as well as creating opportunity for talent identification. In an interview, the event organisers said they wanted to resuscitate dying modelling platform for residents of Mutare.
The contest will be held under the theme: “No to rape.”

The competition shall be implemented in four categories which are Cultural wear, Sports wear, Vintage wear and Evening wear.
Chairman of the organising committee Phineas Sibiya said the prizes comprised monetary value of +/- $1 000, among other prizes.
