The stage is set for 15 models to strut their stuff in the Miss Summer Strides finals on 12 December.
After a sabbatical of 13 years, the founder and organiser of the pageant Sipho Mazibuko said Miss Summer Strides had returned bigger and stronger.
She revealed the journey to bounce back has been easy.
“The journey has been very easy; it seems people missed my pageant magic.
“I got so much support from the public and corporate support has been immense.
“They are jostling to get a piece of the pie, they really missed us.
“The preparations went well, the models went into boot camp at my house (Lavinia Gardens), the finals will be explosive.
“We have a seasoned choreographer Phillip Masuku whom I have worked with for 15 years.
“He has a wealth of experience and he took the models through intense grooming during the bootcamp,” said Mazibuko.
At bootcamp, the models had fitness training and sexual health counselling.
They also participated in a charity initiative as they donated pads to female patients at St Mary’s ward at Ingutsheni Central Hospital.
Mazibuko revealed that the winner of the contest would be given a contract and work closely with South Africa’s Heads Modelling Agency in grooming and nurturing her career.
The finals which are a red carpet affair starting at 5pm, will see revellers paying US$5 for a gold ticket, the VIP ticket at US$10 with the VVIP ticket going for US$20.
Mzoe 7, Novuyo Seagirl, Western Khazins and MJ Impersonator will provide entertainment.
“If you don’t have a mask you don’t enter, sanitisation and social distancing will be prioritised as well as temperature check ups which is all in line with Covid-19 regulations,” said Mazibuko.
