THE Miss Universe Zimbabwe delegation, including the national board, executives, and support staff, is travelling to Bangkok, Thailand, today to support Lyshanda Moyas as she competes in the Miss Universe 2025 pageant.

National director Tendai Hunda expressed confidence in Lyshanda, praising her dedication and preparation.
“We’ve worked tirelessly to ensure that Lyshanda is ready to represent Zimbabwe with confidence and grace. From training to wardrobe selection, every detail has been considered. The entire delegation stands firmly behind her,” Hunda said.

Preparations for the international stage have been rigorous.
“Lyshanda has undergone intensive media and interview training, fitness programmes, stage presence rehearsals, and wardrobe fittings. Cultural representation has been a key focus, ensuring she can showcase Zimbabwe’s heritage on a global stage,” she added.

Hunda also highlighted the professional mentorship that helped Lyshanda navigate the pressures of international competition. “Everything is in order, and we are pleased with how she has been displaying and presenting herself. It is her first time on an international pageant, but we are confident because of the thorough grooming she received. We are already seeing excellent results.”

The organisation is now calling on Zimbabweans at home and abroad, as well as the global community, to vote for Lyshanda during the competition. Voting is a critical component of the Miss Universe pageant.

Hunda urged citizens to actively support their queen.
“Every vote matters. We encourage all Zimbabweans and friends of our nation to rally behind Lyshanda. Your support will help her shine on the world stage.”

Zimbabwe’s journey in Miss Universe has been historic. After a 22-year hiatus, the country returned to the competition in 2023 under Hunda’s leadership, with Brooke Bruk-Jackson representing Zimbabwe. In 2024, Sakhile Dube impressively finished in the Top 30. Lyshanda Moyas now carries on this legacy as the third queen since the organisation’s revival.

Reflecting on the organisation’s growth, Hunda said, “Reviving Miss Universe Zimbabwe was a labour of love, and each queen since our return has strengthened our credibility. Lyshanda embodies the confidence, talent, and resilience of Zimbabwean women. We are proud to have her lead our delegation.”

In Thailand, 2025 contestants are in Pattaya City after exploring Phuket, the country’s largest island, renowned for its beaches, vibrant nightlife, and culture.
