The beautiful yet grounded University of Zimbabwe student walked away with prize money of up to
US$2 000, a laptop and a full year’s tuition bursary at her current college of study courtesy of FBC Bank plus a scholarship from the Zimbabwe Institute of Management for an Executive diploma.
First princess Blessing Ngowe from Bindura University won US$1 000 courtesy of Pinnacle Property Holdings, a laptop and a solar smart-phone from G-tide.
Theatre Arts student at the University of Zimbabwe Nyaradzo Nhongonhema was crowned 2nd Princess.
She also won US$1 000 plus a US$300 book voucher from FBC Bank as well as a solar smart phone courtesy of G-tide.
Elegantly dressed in stunning African attire the 27 beauties strutted the ramp with a well-choreographed intro that marked the beginning of the night that changed the face of the beauty pageant in Zimbabwe.
The prestigious beauty pageant went on smoothly and lived up to it’s billing despite being rocked by several power cuts. The event was well attended with a high-end sophisticated crowd and high profile guests and the country’s prominent socialites who among others included Germany Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Albrecht Conze, Mrs Jocelyn Chiwenga, Kiki Divaris and Byron Nhira who pledged US$1 000 for the winning queen.
Guest of honour at the event Assistant Commissioner General Mrs Josephine Shambare said: “Beauty and brains creates a true ambassador of the nation who will reflect our beloved country endowed with virtues of hospitality, creativity and intellectual capacity”.
Apart from the modelling extravaganza the after party which a star studded line up of tried and tested performing artists that made the event one of the finest that Zimbabwe has ever seen.
One impressed reveller said; “This is real value for money, big up to Ochi City.”
Veteran superstar Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi and his Black Spirits band were the main attraction of the night as they put on a polished act.
Zimbabwe’s top rapper Stunner real name Desmond Chideme blew the roof when he churned out a couple of hits to the delight of a very appreciative crowd.
Rising star from Tazoita Cash Records Shastro proved his worth when he sent the crowd into delirium with an ecstatic performance of his hit song “Sweet Luv”.
Dressed in a shinning white suite “Simbi yaMdara Tatu Muluba” Energy Mutodi backed by the Real Sounds of Africa did not disappoint playing right through to the break of dawn.
