A WOMAN endured a nightmare in Harare’s CBD yesterday when she was harassed by a mob which was attacking her for what they deemed to be improper dressing.

A Harare businesswoman was forced to rescue the woman, who was only identified as Cindy, as she was being abused by a group of men and women who were calling her insulting her because of her dress.

Cindy had been accompanied into town for shopping by her boyfriend when she was provoked by a man in Harare’s CBD.

A mob then followed her from Jason Moyo to Speke Avenue.

They were booing and insulting her until the businesswoman, identified as Faith, decided to take her into her shop, which is along the First Street Mall.

She lost her handbag and cell phone during the scuffle.

“I want to thank this woman for standing firm against men and women who were attacking me.

“She pushed them away and took me into her shop for cover. May God bless her.

“The crowd was tearing off my clothes and one of the ladies offered to get hold of my handbag.

“She disappeared and there was a cellphone in the bag.”

She added:

“I left my boyfriend in another shop when the crowd forced me into another direction as I looked for cover.

“He was not aware that I was under attack from this crowd. Nhai vanhu kundisvereredza asi havasati vawona munhu akashama?

Manje ndicha trenda pa social media.”

Cindy was led into her boyfriend’s kombi while under the protection of four men.

She had to cover herself using her lover’s white jacket.
