Moddong Investments: The success story

BULAWAYO-based Moddong Investments and its subsidiaries, Special Forces Security, Big Fish Bouncers and Ludvonga Private Investigations are relatively new players in the security business and their success has been largely underpinned by a patient approach to growth.

The two companies are subsidiaries of Moddong Investments which was established in 2008 by former boxing national and continental middle weight champion, Mr Modicai Donga, a qualified lawyer who is currently practicing law in Eswatini.

Mr Donga has brought his boxing patience and determination to his businesses and now believes they are ready to join the big leagues in the security sector.

“We have been slowly building our security subsidiaries over the years. It taken us a while but we now believe we are ready to take on our more establish our competition and increase our stake in the market share,” Mr Donga said from his base in Eswatini.

The security company subsidiaries of Moddong Investments provide inter alia, guards for commercial and industrial purposes, for embassies, government and domestic clients. They also provide VIP services, private investigations, private investigations training, self-defence training and cash-in-transit services.

“When we founded these two security subsidiaries at Moddong Investments our vision was not to become an ordinary security services provider. Ours was to also avail consultancy services as well as be available for security development and project management solutions to our clients,” Mr Donga told Sunday Business

On launching the two security companies, Mr Donga, an expert in his own right when it comes to security standards and product specifications did so only after establishing a partnership network with leading security experts in the country and in the region.
