THE Zanu-PF candidate for Beitbridge East, Cde Kembo Mohadi, has called on Zimbabweans to desist from violence and vote peacefully during the harmonised elections on 31 July and shame the country’s detractors. Cde Mohadi made the remarks while addressing party supporters at a rally at Dulibadzimu Stadium on Friday evening.
“As a party we are against the use of violence as a way of making people to vote for us. Let’s go out there and vote in our numbers during the elections and make sure that Zanu-PF wins with two thirds majority.

“We are one people, so there is no need for us to fight each other,” said Cde Mohadi, who is also the Co-Minister of Home Affairs.
“Let me remind you once again that as a party we are the true custodians of our country’s hard won independence and the revolution and hence all of you have to vote for Zanu-PF to make sure that we bring the revolution to its logical conclusion.

“We need to work together in seeing the complete transferring of wealth into the hands of the majority.”
He reiterated that the police would not hesitate to deal with perpetrators of political violence.

Cde Mohadi said the police had enough manpower to deal with all unruly elements during the election period.
A veteran of the liberation struggle, Cde Mohadi likened this year’s harmonised elections to the historic 1980 polls that swept away colonial rule and ushered in independence.

He also warned the electorate to desist from tribal politics saying the war against neo-colonialism needed everyone’s support.
Cde Mohadi described the MDC formations as agents of the Western sponsored regime change agenda, which he said was aimed at reversing the gains of the liberation struggle.

“Voting for Zanu-PF at the next election would mean that you are safeguarding the land reform, economic empowerment and indigenisation programmes and all the natural resources that we have.”
