AN insatiable sexual appetite has landed a 54-year-old Dangamvura man behind bars for 15 years and six months after he was convicted of two separate sexual offences at Mutare Magistrates’ Court last Friday.
Boston Magodhi, of Area 3 Extension, Dangamvura, appeared before regional magistrate, Mrs Phathekile Msipa, facing charges of aggravated indecent assault under Section 66(1) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act (Chapter 9:23), and indecent assault under Section 67 of the same law.
He was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment on the first count, and a further six months on the second, bringing the total sentence to 15 years and six months.
Regional prosecutor, Mr Last Goredema, said on April 13, at House Number 48480, Area 3 Extension, Mutare, Magodhi unlawfully ordered the complainant to undress with indecent intent.
The complainant complied, but Magodhi attempted to force himself on her without consent.
Mr Goredema said Magodhi was fully aware that the complainant had not consented, or at least realised there was a real risk she might not have consented.
The court heard that the complainant was eventually rescued by her friend, preventing the assault from escalating further.
Mr Goredema said a day before that incident, Magodhi had unlawfully and with indecent intent had oral sex with a different complainant — a male person.
The complainant is a male adult aged 23 residing in Tsvingwe, Penhalonga, Mutare.
Mr Goredema said on April 12, at around 9pm, Magodhi was arrested together with the complainant for public drinking and were detained at Dangamvura Police Station.
They were released after paying a fine. Magodhi paid US$20 for him.
Mr Goredema said Magodhi took the complainant and her friend, apparently the complainant in the first count of indecent assault, to his place of residence.
Mr Goredema said upon arrival, Magodhi ordered the complainant to take off his ‘dress’ because he suspected that the complainant was a woman.
Magodhi forcibly had oral sex with the complainant once before cutting off his dreadlocks with scissors and placing them in a plastic bag.
He chased the complainant from his place of residence.
The complainant subsequently filed a police report.
