HELL hath no fury like a scorned woman!
A domestic dispute linked to an alleged extra-marital affair turned dramatic in Nyamukwarara Village under Chief Mutasa when a woman allegedly stripped and assaulted her son-in-law’s suspected lover in full view of villagers.
The incident, which was captured on video, and has since gone viral on social media, erupted after a woman identified only as Mbuya Kamusara accused Precious Mubari of having an affair with her son-in-law, Learnmore Chovha.
Kamusara blamed Mubari for causing turmoil in her daughter’s marriage, and confronted her in an altercation that quickly turned violent.
Footage of the incident shows the two women engaged in a physical fight as onlookers attempted to intervene.
However, efforts to protect Mubari proved unsuccessful as the enraged woman allegedly overpowered those trying to separate them, and stripped Mubari of her clothing from the waist down.
The video shows Mubari left clad only in a bra as shocked villagers watched.
The footage has triggered widespread debate on social media, with users expressing mixed reactions.
While some condemned Mubari over allegations that she was involved with a married man, others argued that no allegation justified assault or public humiliation.
Many social media users also questioned why Kamusara allegedly targeted Mubari instead of confronting Chovha, who is married to her daughter.
The matter was later brought before Village head Vhastiri, where Kamusara and others accused of participating in the assault were found liable and fined under traditional justice processes.
Appearing before the village court, Kamusara admitted assaulting Mubari, but said she acted out of frustration over what she believed was the destruction of her daughter’s marriage.
“Yes, I assaulted her because my daughter’s marriage is breaking down because of her. She is not a good neighbour, and I do not understand why she has chosen to go after my son-in-law,” she said.
She insisted that Mubari should stay away from her daughter’s husband.
“She should leave my son-in-law alone. I am a mother, and I cannot sit and watch while another woman destroys my daughter’s marriage,” she said.
However, Mubari said she continues to suffer the emotional scars of the public ordeal, describing the incident as deeply humiliating.
“She assaulted me and she should pay for what she did. I am now a laughing stock because she stripped me naked. People saw my private parts and I was humiliated in front of everyone. I am now embarrassed to even go out because I feel that people will be laughing at me,” she said.
Mubari maintained that regardless of any allegations surrounding her relationship with Chovha, nobody had the right to assault or publicly disgrace her.
The dispute is further complicated by the family’s living arrangements, as it emerged that Chovha and his wife reside at Kamusara’s homestead.
Villagers said the alleged affair had become a source of tension within the extended family, ultimately culminating in the confrontation that has since drawn widespread public attention.
