Recently, police warned motorists against disturbing the smooth flow of the State motorcade, saying it should be accorded the respect it deserves.
The sentiments came after a pedestrian was hit by a motorbike which was part of the presidential motorcade that accompanied President Mugabe to Headman Enock Chimbamauro’s burial in Zvimba in June.
Police said they would carry out awareness campaigns educating motorists to respect all State motorcades. The State motorcade is not supposed to stop until it reaches its destination. All Zimbabweans who learn how to drive are aware that the law requires them to give precedence to the presidential motorcade and ambulances sounding siren.
