LONDON. — Jose Mourinho is privately fuming that he had to sell Petr Cech to Chelsea title rivals Arsenal. That’s according to former Blues coach Steve Clarke, who reckons the Stamford Bridge chief would have preferred not to sell the Czech Republic keeper to the Gunners. Cech (33) joined the Gunners for £11 million after a trophy-laden decade with the Blues. Mourinho publicly backed owner Roman Abramovich’s decision to allow Cech’s switch as reward for outstanding service.
But Reading manager Clarke insists his former boss will be seething at losing a top-quality star to Arsene Wenger’s outfit. — The Daily Star.
