MP points gun at child’s friends, court told

who had come to play with his child.
The children are aged between 10 and 13 years.

Musundire was not asked to plead to the charge of contravening the Firearms Act when he appeared before Harare Magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Jarabini.
He was granted US$50 bail and will be back in court on December 5 for trial.

Prosecutor Ms Joyce Sithole alleges that on October 30 this year, one of the pupils asked his friends to accompany him to Musundire’s residence where he intended to return his friend’s book.
On arrival at the house, it is alleged that Musundire intercepted them and told them his child was busy.
He went back into his house leaving the children at the gate.

They kept on calling Musundire’s child’s name but he did not come out.
They later went away and Musundire followed them in his motor vehicle. He allegedly produced a gun, which he pointed at them and threatened to shoot them.

The legislator, it is alleged, ordered the children not to come back to his house before he reversed his vehicle and went back home.
The children were later advised by an unidentified man to make a police report, which led to Musundire’s arrest.
