MR AND MISS NUST WINNERS POCKET US$5K EACH

THE National University of Science and Technology campus was transformed into a hub of glamour, elegance and celebration on Saturday as the institution crowned its Mr and Miss NUST 2026 winners.

Moreblessing Lelani Ndlovu was crowned Miss NUST 2026, with Milter Moyo finishing as first runner-up and Jacqueline Thabile Dube taking the second runner-up slot.

Anesu Jordan Moyo was crowned Mr Nust 2026, Stanley Moyo was named first runner-up and David Yakobe claimed the second runner-up slot.

The Miss Curvy NUST 2026 title went to Anotidaishe Nyathi, with Bongokuhle Tatiana Ncube, finishing as the runner-up.

Outgoing titleholders Nomqhele Sisasenkosi Nkomo and Takudzwa Chihambakwe officially handed over their crowns to the new winners in a symbolic moment of transition and celebration.

The winners walked away with substantial cash prizes, with the Mr and Miss NUST winners receiving US$5,000 each.

The cash prizes were sponsored by Sakunda Holdings.

The first runners-up walked away with US$2,500 each, while the second runners-up received US$1,500 each.

The Miss Curvy NUST 2026 winner also received US$5,000.

Miss NUST and Miss Curvy winners were also handed an all-expenses-paid trip to Victoria Falls.

Ambassador Apphia Musavengana announced that every contestant who participated in the pageant will receive US$200 each.

Tanyarara Mhaka, Ivy Sikhosana, Busiso Mlilo, Takunda Kuloe Mushambi and Beloved Mironga might not have won the big awards but they impressed the judges and the audience with their confidence and creativity.

NUST SRC president, Russell Mashinya, described the event as a resounding success that continues to shape campus culture and strengthen student unity.

“What a spectacular, high-energy night. The elegance, intellect and excellence on display proved one undeniable truth.

“NUST students are simply the best in Zimbabwe. We’re visionary, creative and the ultimate definition of youth excellence.

“As NUST students, we’re not just adapting to the future, we’re designing it.

“We’re the technocrats, scientists and innovators who’ll drive Vision 2030 and shape Zimbabwe’s industrial future,” he said.
