THE Manicaland Amateur Body Building and Fitness Association (MABBFA) will introduce two more contests – Mr Chikanga and Mr Sakubva – this year as part of its efforts to promote the sport in the province, the association’s chairperson has said.
MABBFA chairperson, Farai ‘Talawa’ Kasecha, said they would be introducing two more contests in Manicaland this year.
“We will be introducing two contests this year.
These include the Mr Chikanga contest which will be held on May 21 at Chikanga Hall.
There will be junior and senior bodybuilding as well as fitness contests.
“There will also be Mr Sakubva on May 28 at Sakubva Beit Hall.
“We are urging all bodybuilders to train hard for these contests.
The winners will participate at the “Night of Champions” which will be hosted by Dangamvura Body Building and Fitness Association (DABBFA) on June 25.
There will be senior and junior bodybuilding and fitness contest, as well as the middleweight contest for those below 85 kilogrammes.
“These contests will be followed by the provincial Mr Manicaland on October 1.
“The winners will participate at the Strong-man competitions in December.
We are still waiting to be informed of the date for the competition,” said Kasecha.
More bodybuilders will be expected to participate in these contests this year as the contests will be open to all bodybuilders.
The MABBFA leadership is spearheading the formation of committees in each district of Manicaland in order to enable the decentralisation of bodybuilding activities in the province. .
