MSU postpones graduation ceremony

Midlands State University (MSU) has postponed indefinitely the graduation ceremony which was slated for tomorrow at its main campus in Gweru. In a statement, MSU said the graduation ceremony had been postponed indefinitely “due to circumstances beyond our control”.

“Midlands State University wishes to advise its valued stakeholders and graduands that due to circumstances beyond its control, the graduation ceremony which was scheduled for 24 November 2017 has been postponed to a date to be advised,” said the university.

The university, which had issued invitation cards, advised graduands and guests to keep their invites and use them for the rescheduled ceremony.

“The university regrets any inconvenience caused,” read the notice.

The institution had on Tuesday, posted a notice on their website notifying graduands and stakeholders that the ceremony was still going on despite the prevailing political situation. Former President, Cde Robert Mugabe, who was also the Chancellor of all State universities, resigned on Tuesday, forcing the university to cancel the graduation ceremony.
