A MIDLANDS State University student who could not stand sharing a lover with her roommate, got herself in trouble after she was dragged to court for stabbing her rival.
Sibusisiwe Sibanda earned herself 18 months jail sentence when she pleaded guilty to assault charges before Magistrate Judith Taruvinga.
Prosecuting, Memory Chitsunge told the court that on 2 November this year, Sibanda approached Nyaradzo Mucheyi, who is her roommate in Senga, accusing her of snatching her lover whose name could not be ascertained. A brawl ensued.
The infuriated Sibanda then tripped Mucheyi down and chocked her. She left her lying down and rushed into the house where she returned armed with a knife which she used to stab the complainant who was on the ground.
Mucheyi has one Knowledge Masocha to thank who restrained Sibanda from inflicting more damage to her.
