HIGHLANDERS defender Peter Muduhwa was in tears on Sunday as he appeared to bid an emotional farewell to supporters after the team’s 1-1 draw against Yadah Stars at Barbourfields Stadium.
Muduhwa’s gesture has sparked speculation that he is leaving the club, with reports linking him to a move to Scottland.
The defender was joined in his lap of honour by teammate Ariel Sibanda, who has previously stated that he will decide on his future at the end of the season. It remains unclear whether Sibanda was also bidding farewell to the Bosso faithfuls.
Striker Lynoth Chikuhwa, who is linked with a move to Scotland, scored the opening goal.
Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu played down Muduhwa’s farewell, saying, “For me, it’s difficult to know whether someone is waving goodbye or giving us a signal. I would rather concentrate on the game we played today.”
Muduhwa refused to comment after the match and emotional jog to the fans.
