Urban grooves fans are likely to be in for a treat as one of the pioneers of the genre, Tawanda Mugodhi of the “Adibale” fame launches his new album today.
The album “I’m Bek” will be launched at Londoners Sports Club after many years since the musician went into hibernation. In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Mugodhi who hogged the limelight with the hit “Ndinovimbisa”, which featured Yombre Man in 2005 said a lot has happened in his life resulting in him being absent from the showbiz for such a long time.

“A lot has happened in my life for the past years. I have been attending to some family issues and had to do some school work. It was difficult for me to balance school work with music but I am back. Urban grooves fans must expect fireworks,” he said.

The album which carries eight tracks features Nox on a track titled “Nherera”.

Mugodhi said on his new project he has added a dancehall flavour to his music.

“There is a classical dancehall flavour on the album. I call it ‘classical’ since it has a maturity element which is unique to the popular Zim dancehall. I have decided to do such kind of dancehall because I have discovered that mature audience do not like the current Zim dancehall songs hence I decided to do something for them,” he said.

South Africa-based Enock “Nox” Guni and Trevor Dongo who will be perfoming at the launch congratulated Mugodhi for the comeback.

As people who have worked with Tawanda from 1996 together with the likes of TK Hollun we are happy that he is back to take his position in the industry.

“We are also promising an explosive gig at the launch,” Trevor D said.
