ZIMBABWEAN midfielder Marshall Munetsi is confident that the best is yet to come as he prepares for his first full season in a Wolves shirt.
Munetsi has reflected on his debut season in the English Premier League, describing the league as more demanding than France’s Ligue 1. Speaking to the Express & Star in the United Kingdom, the midfielder said his first season was all about adapting to the new environment.
He joined the Premier League side from French club Reims. The Warriors star acknowledged the fierce competition in England’s top flight, which required him to quickly adjust.
The winter signing scored two goals in 14 Premier League appearances but played a significant role in helping Wolves avoid relegation, thanks to his tireless work ethic and strong partnership with striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Coming from French football, the Zimbabwe international has been impressed by the standard of the English game and insists there is more to come in the upcoming campaign.
“I think it’s hard because every game is not easy — even if you’re going to play Southampton, Crystal Palace, or Manchester United,” Munetsi said when asked how the Premier League compares to Ligue 1.
“Each and every weekend there’s always a tough opponent, so you can never really say we’re going to relax today.” — Agencies/Sports Reporter.
