MARSHALL Munetsi will earn between US$50 000 and US$60 000 a week at Wolves, H-Metro projects.
That represents, at least, a 400 percent increase of what he was earning, on a weekly basis, at his French club Stade Reims.
Munetsi was earning about US$12 448 a week at Stade Reims.
The Warriors vice-captain completed a Deadline Day transfer from France to play in the English Premiership on Monday night.
It’s a huge leap in his career and Munetsi has signed a lengthy deal at Wolves.
The midfield hardman cost Wolves about US$20,5 million.
He is the second Stade Reims player who has been signed by Wolves in the past month.
Emmanuel Agbadou, the Cote d’Ivoire defender, was the first to leave Stade Reims for Wolves earlier last month.
He signed a four-and-a-half year contract at Wolves and, according to records, he is earning £45 000 (about US$56 156) a week.
That is also likely to be the range of Munetsi’s salary.
While the Premiership heavyweight clubs can pay their stars huge sums of money, as much as £400 000 a week, it does not follow that all the teams pay such massive amounts of cash.
Wolves’ best paid player is Mathias Cunha who signed a new deal and is paid £100 000 a week.
Cunha’s new deal includes a release clause of £62.5million, which will be active from June this year.
The forward is the club’s talisman and had been linked with a number of clubs during the January transfer window.
Those clubs include Arsenal and Tottenham.
Cunha initially joined Wolves on loan from Atletico Madrid in January 2023 before making the move permanent that summer.
Goncalo Guedes and Pablo Sarabia are the second highest paid players and they earn £90 000 a week.
Nelson Semedo, who has captained the club, is the third highest paid player at the club and earns £80 000 a week.
Hee-chan Hwang earns £70 000 a week while Boubacar Traore earns £55 000 a week.
