Munorwei, Chingwaru join Zim basketball squad

MANICALAND’S two basketball aces, Emmanuel Munorwei and Cole Chingwaru will join Zimbabwe basketball squad that is set to leave for the 2016 COSASSA Games in Botswana next week. The Mutare Boys’ High School duo will be part of the national

basketball team that will be competing at the Confederation of Southern African School Sports Associations Games to be held in Botswana from August 24.
The two aces are expected to be leaving to join camp at Nothlea in Bulawayo today (Friday).
Rachel Puwai, convener for basketball in Manicaland, said Munorwei and Chingwaru were among the 12 players selected into the national team for the COSASSA Games.
“They were selected to be part of the 12 players chosen from all parts of the country to make the Zimbabwe national team.
“Four players had qualified to be in the Zimbabwe Select basketball team, but only two made it into the final team.
“The other two were girls who could not make it in the final team. They are Perceval Mahlengezana and Precious Chinotimba,” said Mrs Puwai.
The COSASSA Games will be held in Botswana from August 23-28 and will have five countries including Botswana (host), Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland and Zimbabwe.
