Mupfumi opens constituency office

Post Correspondent
DANGAMVURA-CHIKANGA legislator, Cde Isau Mupfumi on Sunday officially opened a constituency information office at Dangamvura Beit Hall.

The fully-furnished office will serve as the headquarters, while a satellite office is expected to be opened soon in Chikanga.

Cde Mupfumi said the constituency information office was an apolitical developmental initiative to ensure that his constituency had an easily reachable centre to transmit and get information on developments happening in the country.

“Our economy is in a dire state and we need to put politics aside and focus on developmental and economic concerns. This office will be open to all people across the political divide. Donors can also make use of this office to steer community projects,” said Cde Mupfumi.

He added that the establishment of constituency offices by Parliamentarians should be mandatory to create a bridge between legislators and the constituencies.

Cde Mupfumi said the office would be manned by two secretaries and open every day of the week.

“This is a year of action and this propelled me to open a constituency office. Through this information office all the community concerns will be recorded by my secretaries. Even the Hansards from Parliament can be easily attained through the constituency office,” said Cde Mupfumi.

Community members present welcomed the idea and said the office would ensure accessibility to their legislator, which had always been a problem given his busy business schedule.
