THE 12-year-old boy from Murambinda Growth Point in Buhera who made headlines two years ago after developing a cancerous tumour on his right leg before getting assistance from the Zimbabwe Consolidated Diamond Company (ZCDC) to under surgery, has died.

Trymore Mukan’an’a who was recuperating at their Jaru high-density suburb home in Murambinda died on Monday.

After developing the tumour in May 2019, he was not able to stand on both feet until ZCDC chipped in and settled his medical bills to have the operation done.

ZCDC chief executive, Mr Mark Mabhudhu, said: “We learnt with deep sorrow the passing on of Trymore Mukan’an’a. ZCDC has been plunged into mourning following his untimely death at a time we all thought he was on the recovery path.

“He was one of the many beneficiaries of ZCDC’s Corporate Social Responsibility programmes where he was getting specialist medical treatment for his condition. We commiserate with his family at this difficult time. Trymore had become part of the ZCDC family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

Trymore, who had impressive end of term examination marks from 2018 and 2019 first term, had dropped out of Murambinda A Primary School where he was in Grade Six after developing the cancerous tumour.
