ANDY Muridzo says he is not afraid of competition.
A number of musicians are releasing albums.
The Afro-fusion musician is set to launch his seventh album on August 26, titled ‘‘Zunza’’ at Wood Pub & Grill.
The album consists of 12 songs, plus a bonus track. Speaking to H-Metro, through his manager, Ronald Mujuru, the camp said they were not afraid of competition.
“We are not afraid of competition.
“Competition is healthy since it pushes us to improve on our product and give fans value for their money.
“It’s always good to give our fans a wide variety of offerings to choose from. Therefore, I regard it as complimenting each other in the industry rather than competing against each other,” he said.
Asked whether Muridzo did the proper timing and marketing for the album launch, he said:
“The previous album was released on 31 July 2021 and we are already 12 months past . We cannot afford to go beyond 12 months without giving our fans something new to listen to.”
He added that they have high expectations from fans as well as fellow artistes.
“There are certainly high expectations that we will unleash something that will be better than our previous offerings. Fellow artists are keen to hear what we have been cooking and how the market will respond with a view to improve their own offerings in line with fans’ expectations,” he said.
