Muripo urges youths to be disciplined

TWO-TIME World Kyokushin Karate champion, Samson Muripo, believes sport instils discipline in individuals, especially the youths.

He believes the training routines that come with boxing and karate drain a lot of negative energy from the youths and keeps them away from illicit substances and anti-social behaviour.

“Every sporting discipline makes youths tired through training. When they go back home, they go to sleep, as they will be needing rest. They will not have time to think about other things.

“I hope to see a number of youths engaging in activities that help them for the better in their lives and helps the country too,” said Muripo.

Muripo, who has won several accolades on the international stage, said he will always make sure he is in a good shape to offer guidance and help whenever needed.

Muripo said being able to nurture talent is a gift that he cherishes as many see the light and follow to better themselves.

“We have got gifts, but there are some that are brighter than others, which attract more following. So, it takes the little gifts to emulate and also be great. The moment they achieve then it means that they have emulated the characteristics of a champion,” he said.
